Carolina in the Fall™ Music and Food Festival presented by Wilkes Communications, Inc. announced today that they will be hosting the 2016 North Carolina Banjo Championships. Jens Kruger, of The Kruger Brothers and one of the top banjo players in the world will serve as the host for the championships. “I am thrilled to host the banjo championship and I look forward to welcoming many of the nation’s top pickers as they compete to hold the annual title. Carolina in the Fall is the perfect setting for the North Carolina Banjo Championship and we look forward to many years of great banjo competition”, said Jens.
The North Carolina Banjo Championship is sponsored by Deering Banjos, makers of the world’s finest instruments. There will be prizes for the top three spots. Judges for the championship will be respected local and national banjo artists and instructors.
Carolina in the Fall™ is celebrating its’ second year of festivities in Downtown Wilkesboro on September 23rd and 24th. Artists scheduled to perform are the Kruger Brothers, The Infamous Stringdusters, The Steel Wheels, Symphony of the Mountains, Flatt Lonesome, The Snyder Family Band, Nora Jane Struthers and the Party Line, Front Country, Slocan Ramblers, Locust Honey and many more.
Each evening of the festival, VIP ticket holders will be treated to the Carolina Jam™ at the Yadkin Valley Event Center at the Wilkesboro Holiday Inn Express. This once in a lifetime band jam experience is scheduled to begin each evening at 11:00 PM and conclude at 1 AM.

Included in the Festival is the Carolina in the Fall Food Truck Championship. Food trucks from around the State will converge on Main Street to feed festival attendees and compete for the $500 first prize and the championship trophy. Additionally, local wineries and craft beer brewers will be onsite to serve attendees some of their best beverages.
