Carolina in the Fall audience at night

Carolina in the Fall™ Music and Food Festival presented by Wilkes Communications, Inc. announced that they will be hosting the 2017 North Carolina Banjo Championships. Jens Kruger, of The Kruger Brothers and one of the top banjo players in the world will serve as the host for the championships. “I am thrilled to host the banjo championship and I look forward to welcoming many of the nation’s top pickers as they compete to hold the annual title. Carolina in the Fall is the perfect setting for the North Carolina Banjo Championship and we look forward to hosting many years of great banjo competition”, said Jens.

 

The 2017 North Carolina Banjo Championship is sponsored by Deering Banjos, makers of the world’s finest instruments. There will be prizes for the top three spots. Details and Championship Rules and Applications are available on the Festival website (www.carolinainthefall.org) on the “Get Involved” tab. Judges for the championship will be respected local and national banjo artists and instructors.

Carolina in the Fall™ is celebrating its’ third year of festivities in the newly renovated Downtown Wilkesboro Park on September 22nd and 23rd. Artists scheduled to perform are The Kruger Brothers, Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder, Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors, The Black Lillies, The Hunts, The Snyder Family Band, Terry Baucom’s Dukes of Drive, Darin and Brooke Aldridge, Lindsay Lou and the Flatbellys, The Kontras Quartet and many more.

Each evening of the festival, VIP ticket holders will be treated to the Carolina Jam™ at the Yadkin Valley Event Center at the Wilkesboro Holiday Inn Express. This once in a lifetime band jam experience is scheduled to begin each evening at 11:00 PM and conclude at 1 AM.

Included in the Festival is the Carolina in the Fall Food Truck Championship. Food trucks from around the State will converge on Main Street to feed festival attendees and compete for the $500 first prize and the championship trophy. Additionally, The Chad Lovette Memorial Trail Run will be held on Saturday, September 23 at Cub Creek Park with proceeds benefiting the American Cancer Society.

Festival tickets are limited and are available online at www.carolinainthefall.org. Single day passes are $35.00. Two day festival passes are $65.00 and two day VIP passes are $110.00.
