The Kruger Brothers host annual food and music festival September 21-22WILKESBORO, NC –Carolina in the Fall Music and Food Festival, the fourth annual celebration of music, food and mountain tradition, takes placeSeptember 21-22,in historic downtown Wilkesboro. Over 100 musicians, chefs, vintners and craft beer brewers from the region will gather on Main Street to entertain audiences with the best of their craft.Music begins at 12 noon on Friday and 11 a.m. on Saturday and continues until 10:30 p.m. both nights. Festival gates open an hour before the music begins. Carolina in the Fall, recipient of the 2017 IBMA Momentum Event of the Year Award, offers five stages of entertainment: Carolina Stage, Foothills Stage, Hall of Fame Stage, Great State Stage, and, new for this year, The 1915 Stage. Live music on the porch of the Blue Ridge Artisan Center at The 1915 begins at 1 p.m. each day.“Everyone is welcome to come enjoy the street festival portion of Carolina in the Fall. CITF now accepting entries for banjo championship, trail run and songwriting competition

WILKESBORO, NC – The fourth annual Carolina in the Fall Music and Food Festival, slated for September 21-22, 2018, is now accepting entries for the N.C. Banjo Championship, Chad Lovette Memorial Trail Run, Bobby Martin Young Songwriters Competition. The 2018 North Carolina Banjo Championship, hosted by world-renowned banjoist Jens Kruger of The Kruger Brothers, will take place on Saturday, September 22, at 8:30 a.m. The contest is open to musicians who earn 30 percent or less of their annual income from performing music, and previous winners may enter. Musicians may register until 8 a.m. on the day of competition; however, only 20 pickers may compete in the championship. This will be the first twenty who register and are present when their names are called from the registration list one-half hour before the contest begins. “I am thrilled to host the competition and look forward to welcoming the country’s best pickers as they compete for the North Carolina Banjo Championship title. Carolina in the Fall in the heart of Appalachia offers a perfect setting for pickers to captivate an international audience,” said Jens. These artists will join festival hosts The Kruger Brothers and The Steel Wheels, The Roosevelts, Fireside Collective, The Contenders, Snyder Family Band, The Arcadian Wild, Nikki Talley and more than 100 other musicians, chefs, vintners and craft beer brewers from the region. The Secret Sisters – The Secret Sisters, a singer-songwriter duo from Alabama, went from touring with Bob Dylan to losing their label, purging their team, and filing bankruptcy. But sisters Laura and Lydia Rogers kept moving forward, receiving a Grammy nomination for their biting and beautiful third LP, produced by Brandi Carlile, “You Don't Own Me Anymore.” The sisters found themselves in a more creative and honest space than ever. Carolina in the Fall™ Music and Food Festival Announces Its 2018 Program and Opens Ticket Sales

Wilkesboro, NC – February 28, 2018 ––The fourth annual Carolina in the Fall™ Music and Food Festival, winner of the 2017 IBMA Momentum Event of the Year Award, continues its’ tradition of celebrating the heritage of western North Carolina on September 21st and 22nd, 2018. Over 100 musicians, chefs, vintners and craft beer brewers from the region will gather on Main Street in Wilkesboro, NC to engage audiences with the best of their craft. “Big changes are coming to Carolina in the Fall™ this year”, says Festival Director Michelle Isom. “We listened to our festival guests and reserved seating is clearly an amenity that they want. This year we will have a very limited number of reserved seats that are part of the VIP Package.
