Carolina in the Fall Music and Food Festival, presented by Wilkes Communications, Inc will take place this Friday and Saturday, September 25th and 26th. The Kruger Brothers are prepared to welcome folks to downtown Wilkesboro for two days of celebration of the music and food that makes Wilkes County a very special place. The festival is a joint effort of the Town of Wilkesboro, Heart of Folk, LLC and the Kruger Brothers. Some 28 bands, including the Kruger Brothers, Rhonda Vincent and the Rage, Balsam Range, the Secret Sisters and many more will take the stages over the two days of the festival. Local vendors will be showing off Wilkes County’s best from apples, honey and ham to pottery and blacksmithing. Regional vineyards and craft breweries will be on hand to let folks taste the regions wines and beers. The Carolina in the Fall Food Truck Championship will be held on Saturday afternoon at 3:00PM with the winner being announced form the Carolina Stage at 4:30. Awards will be made to the truck that wins People’s Choice, Best Truck and the Overall Champion. Festival attendees will have the opportunity to fill out surveys during the festival to select the People’s Choice Award winner. Carolina in the Fall presented by Wilkes Communications, Inc is pleased to announce the addition of the Carolina in the Fall Kids Showcase. . This hour and a half of music will feature some of the best of the regions young artists. The showcase will be presented by Larry Skipper and will feature many of his local music students. “Our festival mission is to celebrate the culture of the region and part of the culture is the music that is passed on to our children”, stated Festival Director Michelle Isom. “this show will bring some of our area’s best young talent to the stages of Carolina in the Fall”. The Showcase will be presented at 11:00- 12:30 AM Saturday morning on the Great State Stage. Carolina in the Fall™ is making its’ festival debut this year in Downtown Wilkesboro on September 25th and 26th. Carolina in the Fall™ presented by Wilkes Communications, Inc. announced today that the “Hometown Stage” will be sponsored by the Wilkesboro Tourism Development Authority. This stage will be dedicated to hosting musicians from the northwestern region of North Carolina and will feature many of the areas talented artists. The stage will be located between the Nanasan Restaurant and the Wilkes Shoppes on Main. Wanda Morrison, Proprietor of the Shoppes on Main generously donated her parking area for the stage. The old Gray Brothers warehouse will be the backdrop for the stage and will lend a touch of history to the venue. “This location works beautifully for the Hometown Stage”, says Michelle Isom, Festival Director. “We look forward to hosting the areas artist from 8 to 80 years old. Carolina in the Fall™ announces Kogut Fiddle auction!

Carolina in the Fall™ presented by Wilkes Communications, Inc. is pleased to announce that it will be auctioning a one of a kind, handmade Bob Kogut fiddle during this year’s festival. Bob's fiddles are known for having a sweet, rich voice, without harsh, strident overtones. They are all handmade and can be customized to a fiddler’s preferences. Each violin is unique and is given its own name when it is completed. The name may reflect a characteristic of the violin or be symbolic of a particular milestone in the maker's own life. The fiddle will be on display during the festival. This will be a silent auction with the winner being announced during the last evening of the festival. Bob will be on-hand to present the high bidder with his custom made violin. Other items to be auctioned during the festival include a handmade Lyle Wheeler rocker, two Jens Kruger personally autographed Deering Banjos (one each evening) and a two person 2016 Carolina in the Fall Festival Package (including three nights at the Holiday Inn Express and two VIP tickets). Carolina in the Fall™ announces Food Truck Line-up!

Carolina in the Fall™ presented by Wilkes Communications, Inc. is pleased to announce the line-up of Food Trucks that will be serving and competing during this year’s festival. The first annual Carolina in the Fall Food Truck Championship will feature some of the region’s best food trucks. With the goal of celebrating all areas of Western North Carolina culture, these trucks represent some of the best regional menus and will provide festival attendees with amazing choices of food to enjoy during the festival. Included in the line-up are Appalachian Smoke BBQ, Hendersonville, NC; The Real Food Truck, Asheville, NC; Root Down Food Truck, Asheville, NC; Decrepit Old Geezers Sausages (DOGS), Asheville, NC; Poor Man BBQ, Morganton, NC; Taqueria El Azteca, Greensboro, NC; LoYo on the Go, Durham, NC; The Humble Pig, Cary, NC; Kona Ice, Greensboro, NC; Bulkogi Korean BBQ Truck, Cary, NC; Porter House, Greensboro, NC; Home Slice, Greensboro, NC; Wingz on Wheelz, Statesville, NC; OMG Chicken, Raleigh, NC and Bebos American Bistro, Cornelius, NC. In addition to three Festival judges, festival goers will rate the trucks and their input will contribute to the final scores and determine the overall champion Food Truck. The winning Truck will receive the CITF Food Truck Championship trophy and the winning prize of $500. Additional trophies will be given for People’s Choice and Best Themed Truck.
